The Berkeley Scientific Journal accepts applications from interested UC Berkeley undergraduate students at the beginning of every semester. Applications for the Fall 2025 semester are now closed and will reopen at the beginning of the Spring 2026 semester.

First-semester journal staff are required to enroll in the 2-unit DeCal (Democratic Education at Cal) course that accompanies our organization. Our staff writers are trained in practice of science journalism and communication.
